Report abuse
Last updated: 8 May 2026 · Version 1.0
1. What we mean by abuse
As a Nominet self-managed registrar, Presence Group Ltd takes seriously any allegation that a domain we hold is being used for, or is associated with:
- Phishing, credential theft, or other fraudulent impersonation;
- Distribution of malware or command-and-control infrastructure;
- Distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or other unlawful content;
- Spam or large-scale unsolicited messaging;
- Sale or supply of counterfeit goods or other unlawful commerce;
- Activity reported by Nominet under its Criminal Practices policy.
Note: this site does not host customer websites. The domains we currently hold are listed for sale and are either parked or pointed to a "for sale" landing page. Reports about content hosted under one of our domains by a third party should still be sent to us so that we can investigate.
2. How to report
Please email [email protected] with:
- The domain name and, where relevant, the specific URL;
- A clear description of the abuse, including dates and times observed;
- Evidence where possible (screenshots, headers, logs);
- Your name and a reply email address (anonymous reports are accepted but slower to action because we cannot ask for clarification).
3. What happens next
- Acknowledgement — within one working day. We confirm receipt and assign a reference.
- Investigation. We assess the report against the categories above and applicable UK law. We may request additional information.
- Action. Where a report is well-founded and the abuse is within our control, we will take proportionate action. Depending on circumstances this may include: suspending DNS for the domain; reverting the domain to a parked state; removing infringing content from any landing page we operate; cooperating with law enforcement; and, in serious cases, working with Nominet under their Criminal Practices policy.
- Outcome. Where you have provided contact details, we will write to you with the outcome.
4. Escalation to Nominet and law enforcement
If you believe a domain is being used for criminal activity, you should also report it directly to:
- Nominet: via the Nominet abuse reporting form or [email protected].
- Action Fraud (UK police service for fraud and cybercrime): actionfraud.police.uk or 0300 123 2040.
- Internet Watch Foundation (CSAM): report.iwf.org.uk.
- National Cyber Security Centre (phishing): [email protected].
5. Misuse of this channel
This channel is for reporting genuine abuse. Commercial disputes, trade-mark complaints, civil matters or attempts to use abuse reports to pressure us in a sales negotiation will be redirected to our complaints procedure or to Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service as appropriate.
6. Records
We keep a written record of every abuse report and our response for at least three years. This record is available for review by Nominet on request.
