Registrar terms
Last updated: 8 May 2026 · Version 1.0
1. Who this applies to
Presence Group Ltd is a Nominet self-managed registrar. We hold a small portfolio of domains, principally our own. These registrar terms apply to any third-party registrant whose .uk or .co.uk domain is registered under our IPS tag MIXUK. They do not apply to domains we hold for sale on this site, and they cease to apply once a domain is transferred to another Nominet-accredited registrar.
2. Charges for domain-related services
We do not operate a high-volume retail registration storefront. All charges are quoted in writing in advance, invoiced before the work is carried out, and payable by UK bank transfer or other mutually agreed method. We do not auto-charge stored payment instruments.
Standard fees
- Annual registration or renewal of a .uk or .co.uk domain — charged at Nominet's prevailing wholesale rate plus a flat administrative fee. The combined rate is published to you in writing before the registration or renewal is actioned, and is also confirmed in each renewal notice (see section 3).
- Transfer in to MIXUK — free. The receiving party simply asks their existing registrar to change the IPS tag to MIXUK.
- Transfer out from MIXUK to another Nominet-accredited registrar — free. There is no exit fee. See section 5.
- Termination of the registrar relationship — free. There is no termination charge whether you transfer the domain away or simply ask us to let it expire.
- Restoration of an expired domain during the Nominet grace period — charged at cost. Where Nominet applies a restoration or recovery fee, we pass it through at cost with no mark-up.
- Other ad-hoc registrar services (registrant data changes, name-server updates outside our standard self-service, dispute correspondence, etc.) — charged at a flat administrative rate agreed in writing in advance. We will not invoice for any service that has not been agreed in writing first.
Prices may be revised annually to reflect changes in Nominet's wholesale charges or our administrative costs. Any change will be notified at least 30 days before it takes effect, and will not apply retroactively to a renewal already invoiced.
3. Renewal notices
We send renewal reminders to the registrant's contact email address on record at three points before the domain's expiry date:
- 60 days before expiry — first reminder, asking the registrant to confirm whether they wish to renew, with the renewal price quoted.
- 30 days before expiry — second reminder. This is the formal 30-day notice required of self-managed registrars under the Nominet Registry-Registrar Agreement.
- 7 days before expiry — final reminder, with an explicit warning that the domain will be allowed to expire if no renewal instruction is received and paid for in time.
Renewal is at the registrant's election. We do not auto-renew unless we have specifically been asked to do so in writing. To renew, reply to any of the reminder emails confirming renewal; we will issue an invoice and renew the domain at Nominet on receipt of payment.
It is the registrant's responsibility to keep their contact email address current with us so that renewal notices reach them. If you change email address, write to [email protected] from both the old and new address so we can update our records.
4. Expiry and the Nominet grace period
If the registrant does not renew the domain before its expiry date:
- Day 0 to Day 30 after expiry — the domain enters Nominet's standard grace period. It can be renewed at our standard renewal rate (no late fee from us).
- Day 31 to Day 90 after expiry — the domain is suspended at the registry but is still recoverable. A renewal still resolves it; Nominet may apply a registry-level restoration fee, which we pass through at cost.
- After Day 90 — the domain is dropped from Nominet and re-enters the available pool. At this point the name is no longer recoverable through us; anyone may register it.
We will email the registrant on the day of expiry and again on Day 30 if the domain is still in grace and has not been renewed, so a registrant who missed the pre-expiry reminders has a clear final opportunity to recover the name.
5. Transferring to another registrar
A registrant may move their domain to another Nominet-accredited registrar at any time, for any reason, free of charge. The process:
- Open an account with the new registrar and obtain their IPS tag.
- Email [email protected] from the contact email address we hold for you, asking us to change the tag and naming the new tag exactly as the receiving registrar has given it to you.
- We will action the tag change at Nominet within two working days of receipt of your written request.
The domain remains registered to you throughout. Only the registrar tag changes. Your DNS, hosting and contact details at the registry are unaffected by the tag change unless you ask the new registrar to change them.
6. Termination of the registrar relationship
You may terminate the registrar relationship with us at any time by either (a) transferring the domain to another registrar in accordance with section 5, or (b) instructing us in writing that you wish the domain to be allowed to expire at its next renewal date. There is no termination fee.
We may terminate the registrar relationship by giving you 90 days' written notice and offering reasonable assistance to transfer the domain to another registrar before termination takes effect. We may terminate on shorter notice or immediately in the case of (a) abuse of the domain or our services, (b) failure to pay charges following two written reminders, (c) provision of false registrant information, or (d) conduct that would put our self-managed tag at risk of suspension by Nominet.
7. Service standards
As a Nominet self-managed registrar, we commit to the customer service levels set out in the Registry-Registrar Agreement, including:
- Acknowledging customer enquiries within two working days.
- Substantive response to any complaint within ten working days — see our complaints procedure.
- Acting on lawful abuse reports promptly — see our abuse page.
- Maintaining accurate and current registrant data for every domain we hold, and updating it within two working days of being notified of a change.
8. Your obligations as registrant
You agree to:
- Provide us with accurate, current registrant data, and notify us if it changes;
- Pay invoiced charges by the due date;
- Not use the domain for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes;
- Comply with Nominet's terms and conditions of domain name registration, which apply to every .uk and .co.uk registrant directly.
9. Data protection
We process registrant personal data in accordance with our privacy notice. Contact data passed to Nominet for the purposes of registry operation is governed by Nominet's own data policies.
10. Governing law and contact
These registrar terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, with the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales. All correspondence to [email protected].
